Thesis Project Brasilia Interstate Railway Station

2014

To design a Railway Station is challenging, regarding its typology as a great unification of disciplines: urban design, architecture, engineering and interior design. Being a civic building, the railway station is a busy place where people meet, eat and watch contemporary life happening. The project proposal is to revive train transportation in Brasília by creating a new Interstate Railway Station which would be able receive high-speed trains for passengers. The new station aims to connect passengers traveling around the Brasilia-Goiania route, which represents Brazil's third largest urban conglomerate. The design of that new Interstate Brasilia Railway Station proposes a renewal of urban design on its site in order to connect Brasilia’s means of transport. Therefore, it can affect generally and positively the city living conditions.
